pantoja family
Mission 212 Foundation was honored to serve the Pantoja family—Isaac and Mauri, and their three children, Layla, Kyren, and Sylus—during a season filled with unexpected hardship and uncertainty.
Isaac, a self-employed barber and small business owner, began experiencing serious health issues in August 2024 that led to multiple hospitalizations. In May 2025, he was diagnosed with cancer and quickly began treatment at KU Medical Center. Since that time, his diagnosis has required him to significantly slow down work and daily life, placing emotional and financial strain on the entire family.
As treatments continued every two weeks, Mauri was often required to take time away from work, while their children were cared for by extended family. Like many families facing cancer, the Pantojas found themselves navigating missed milestones, mounting expenses, and the emotional weight that comes with prolonged treatment.
During the Christmas season, Mission 212 had the privilege of adopting the Pantoja family. Through the generosity of donors and volunteers, the foundation provided gifts for the entire family along with financial support to help ease the burden they were carrying. The delivery of those gifts brought tears, joy, and a powerful reminder that they were not alone.
It was an honor to come alongside the Pantoja family during this chapter of their journey. Mission 212 remains committed to supporting families like theirs—offering hope, encouragement, and moments of light in the midst of cancer.
